Strong second half leads the Deacs to a dominating victory.

BOONE, N.C. – The No. 6 Wake Forest field hockey team earned another shutout 6-0 at App State on Sunday afternoon.

Senior Mia Schoenbeck recorded a brace, earning her first two goals of the season.

Senior Ava Moore recorded her second brace of the season.

Freshman Bianca Rees-Gibbs added two goals, giving her five on the weekend.

Sophomore goalie Ruby Butterfield has earned her fourth straight win, allowing only one goal.

How It Happened

Wake recorded one goal in the first half.
- Mia Schoenbeck got the Deacs on the board to end the first quarter.
In the third quarter, Wake recorded three goals in five minutes
- Bianca Rees-Gibbs earned her first goal of the day
- Ava Moore recorded both goals of her brace in the third
To finish out the game Wake recorded two more goals to secure the win.
- Bianca Rees-Gibbs scored two minutes into the quarter
- Mia Schoenbeck put the Deacs away with her second goal on the day
The Deacons held App State to zero shots
The Deacons finished with a 6-0 win.

"Super proud of the way the team responded in the second half. I thought we were creating tremendous opportunities for ourselves. In the second half we were able to play with a little better structure and more postups through our midfield and strikeline. Then we combined and found the back of the cage."

The Deacs will head to Maryland to take on Delaware and No. 7 Maryland next weekend.
