Mike Muse was named Director of Player Relations and Community Service of the Wake Forest Men's Basketball program in Sept. 2022 before being named General Manager in the summer of 2023.
A former assistant coach of the men's basketball program, Muse returned to Wake Forest in October of 2019 to serve as the Deacon Club's Director of Basketball Alumni Relations for three years. The role saw him work under supervision of the Development staff and in close coordination with the Men's and Women's basketball staffs to create an atmosphere of engagement and development among former basketball players.
Muse was Wake Forest's Director of Basketball Operations during the 2006-07 season under Skip Prosser and was an assistant coach for two seasons (2007-08, 2008-09) under Dino Gaudio. He started his coaching career with two seasons at his alma mater, Appalachian State, before serving as a long-time teacher and coach in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County school system. In 2019, he was selected to coach in the North Carolina Coaches East-West All-Star Game, leading the West team to a 119-80 victory.
A native of Winston-Salem, Muse graduated from Appalachian State in 1985 with a degree in Physical Education and Health. He went on to earn his Master's in School Administration from Appalachian State in 1999.
Muse and his wife, Kimberly, reside in Tobaccoville, N.C. He has two daughters, Katie and Lauren, a son, Tanner, a stepdaughter, Jordan, and three grandchildren, Zelda, Penny and Boone.
