Millette Green

Millette Green joined the Wake Forest women's basketball staff as an assistant coach ahead of the 2022-23 season. Additionally with Assistant Coach/Recruiting Director Nikki Flores, she will spearhead all recruiting efforts for the program.

During Green’s first season working with the program, the Deacs tied the most since the 2011-12 season, defeated four NCAA Tournament teams including wins over two Elite Eight teams and grabbed 12 wins at home, the fourth-highest total in program history.

Additionally with Green working with the wings, Wake Forest finished second in program history with 227 threes made, increased the team’s assist percentage by nearly 20 percent and held ACC opponents at home to just 19.2 percent shooting from three.

Helping lead recruiting efforts, the Demon Deacons signed a top-25 recruiting class according to ESPNW during Flores’ first season on campus. This marks the first time since the 2014 class that the Deacs have signed multiple top-100 players in the same class and just the second time in the ESPNW era.

With the tutelage of Green, sophomore Alyssa Andrews took a big step forward in her second season on campus. Andrews became one of the best defensive stoppers in the ACC as the Deacs ranked in the top five in the conference in nearly every defensive category.

Wake Forest ranked in the top 70 nationally in points per game allowed and in the top 60 nationally in three-point defense.

Prior to Wake Forest

Green came to Winston-Salem after spending five seasons as the head coach at Augusta University totaling 44 wins including double-digits wins in the last two full seasons with the Jaguars.

In her final season in Augusta, Ga., Green led the Jaguars to the best season in her tenure, posting a record of 15-13 including a near .500 record in conference play. In the 2020-21 season, Green's squad finished fifth in the Peach Belt after losing nearly a month of their season to COVID.

Prior to her time at Augusta, Green spent five seasons as the top assistant at the William & Mary in Williamsburg, Va.

Under Green's guidance, the William and Mary Tribe recorded one of its best seasons in school history in 2016-17. W&M tied a school record with 20 wins, won a CAA Tournament game for the first time since 2009, and advanced to the CAA Semifinals for the first-time since 2001. The Tribe won 11-straight games, which is the longest single-season streak in school history, from Nov. 18, 2016 - Jan. 2, 2017.

Once again Green helped W&M to a record setting season in the 2015-16 campaign. The Tribe raced out to its best start in school history with an 11-2 record, and went onto again win the fourth most wins in school history with 15. For the second straight season her guards set a school record by tying the single season assist record (466). During the season junior guard Marlena Tremba became the 15th player in school history to break the 1000-point barrier. Individually, four players earned All-CAA awards.

Green helped the Tribe to a record setting season in her second season in Williamsburg. The Tribe racked up 15 wins, the fourth-most in school history, on its way to its first-ever postseason appearances with a bid in the Women's Basketball Invitational. The Green and Gold had a seven-win turnaround, while setting three school records for assists (466), blocked shots, (143), blocked shots per game (4.5). Individually she helped lead four players to five All-CAA awards.

In her first season with the Tribe, Green helped tutor freshman guard Marlena Tremba to CAA Rookie of the Year honors, and a spot on the all-rookie team. She also helped guide the Tribe defense to a top 10 finish in the NCAA in steals per game. A key member of the recruiting team, she helped the Tribe ink four players for the 2014-15 season.

Before coming to William and Mary, Green spent the last three seasons at Fairleigh Dickinson University, where in 2012 she was the associate head coach for the Knights. During her three-year tenure under head coach Peter Cinella, Green was the Fairleigh Dickinson recruiting coordinator as she spearheaded efforts, which landed Erika Livermore, who was a First Team All-Northeast Conference selection last season.

Prior to her stint with the Knights, Green was an assistant coach at Indiana University-Purdue University-Indianapolis (IUPUI) for two seasons.
