Jen Murczek is in her fourth year at Wake Forest in 2016, serving as the Director of Summer Camps and Youth Programming. Her responsibilities include servicing as the summer camp director, director of youth programming, coordinating fall and spring team travel and managing the office on a daily basis.
Murczek brings a wealth of experience from coaching volleyball at various levels over the past 10 years including varsity high school, club, and college camp coach. She was the owner and operator as well as the head coach for Mean Green Juniors from 2010-13.
She was the head varsity volleyball coach at Turner High School in Carrollton, Texas in which the team recorded its best season in five years and improved its state ranking by 414 places.
During her two years at Turner, she coached a first-team All-District player, two second team All-District players, 18 academic All-District selections and had six academic All-State players. Murczek was the Department Head for Physical Education and Health, Women's Athletic Coordinator while serving as the head volleyball coach.
Prior to her time in Texas, Murczek was one of the lead coaches of the Jayhawk Juniors team in Lawrence, Kansas. while also coaching volleyball and teaching at the high school level at Tonganoxie High School.
A native of Burlington, Ontario, Canada, Murczek was a four-year letter winner at Louisville in field hockey. She was named to the All-MAC Second Team in 1998 and the All-MAC First Team in 2000. Murczek was also honored as a Regional All-American Second team selection in 2000.
She graduated from the University of Louisville in 2001 with a Bachelor's of Science in Exercise Science and Sports Medicine. Murczek also earned a Master's degree in Exercise Physiology in 2003 from Louisville and finished a teacher's certification in physical education from Western Michigan University. Murczek is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and a USA Weightlifting Level 1 Sport Performance.
Murczek and her husband Ken were married in August 2007.
