Van Ruiten Earns Top ACC Field Hockey Honor

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Wake Forest's Nienke van Ruiten was named ACC Field Hockey Player-of-the-Week late Monday evening. It was the first time this season that a Demon Deacon has received the honor.
Van Ruiten, from Busssum, Netherlands, helped lead the Deacons to upset wins over 19th ranked William & Mary and 10th ranked Kent. She scored two goals in the 3-0 win over Kent and had an assist in the 3-2 overtime win against William & Mary.
She currently leads the Deacons in both goals (4) and points (11). She is also tied for the team lead in assists with three.
