Wake Forest Announces 1999 Field Hockey Schedule

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest field hockey coach Jennifer Averill announced the team's 1999 schedule this afternoon. The schedule includes nine home dates including games with Duke (Sept. 11), Virginia (Oct. 23) and North Carolina (Oct. 26), all of whom finished ranked in the top 20 during the 1998 season.
The Deacons schedule includes six games with teams who finished the 1998 season ranked among the top 20: at Maryland (Sept. 25), at Boston University (Oct. 30), Boston College (Oct. 31) and the aforementioned. The Deacs will also take on Miami (Ohio) and Pacific in a round robin at the University of Louisville.
The Deacons will also serve as the host school for the 1999 ACC Tournament to be held at Kentner Stadium on Nov. 4-5 and 7. Wake Forest lasted host the conference tournament in 1993.
