TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- The 11th-ranked Wake Forest women's tennis team claimed an AtlantiC Coast Conference victory over Florida State, 6-3, in Tallahassee, Fla. With the victory, Wake Forest improves to 8-2 and 1-0 in the ACC while Florida State falls to 6-7, 0-1 in the ACC.
The Demon Deacons took four of six singles flights and two of three doubles flights to claim the victory. Mariel Verban, Annemarie Milton, Dorothee Kurz and Jackie Houston were all credited with singles victories.
Wake Forest will return to action on Thursday, March 19 when they host No. 7 Texas at 2 p.m.
