Field Hockey Opens Season With Win Over Radford.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.--The Wake Forest University Demon Deacon field hockey team opened the 1999 season Saturday with a 7-1 win over the Radford Lady Highlanders here at Kentner Stadium.
Radford grabbed the lead early when Laura Morrow scored a goal with 30:15 to go in the first half. Wake answered to tie the score on a goal by freshman Jemima Cameron at the 26:15 mark. Cameron gave the Deacons the lead for good six minutes later when she scored her second goal of the game.
Cameron and sophomore Jennie Shelton led Wake Forest with two goals apiece. Junior Jenny Everett, senior Samantha Rush and sophomore Carrie Neidhardt added a goal each.
Wake Forest improves its record to 1-0 with the win, while Radford is 0-1. The Demon Deacons will return to action on Sunday, September 5, when they host the Louisville Cardinals. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
