WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.-- Sophomore outside hitter Trina Maso de Moya recorded 15 kills, seven digs, and four blocks as the Wake Forest women's volleyball team swept visiting Radford, 3-0, at Reynolds Gym.
The Demon Deacons (9-2) took the first two games decisively, winning 15-6, 15-5. Radford kept the third game close, but Wake Forest held off the Highlanders (3-6) to win 15-12. The Deacs held Radford to just a .063 hitting percentage for the match and recorded 10 service aces and 13 team blocks. Freshman setter Ashlee Phillips added a team-high 21 assists for Wake Forest, playing in two of the three games.
For the Highlanders, senior outside hitter Ami Orr tallied a team-high 10 kills, while senior setter Laurie Layton added 32 assists and nine digs.
Wake Forest travels to Appalachian State for a 7:00 p.m. match on Saturday, Sept. 18th.
