Wake Forest Field Hockey Rolls Past Louisville

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.- Jennie Shelton, Jenny Everett, and Heather Aughinbaugh scored two goals apiece as the Wake Forest field hockey team rolled past visiting Louisville, 8-0, on a rainy afternoon at Kentner Stadium.
The Deacons (2-0) jumped on the Cardinals early, scoring four goals in the game's first 13 minutes. Shelton netted both of her goals in that early surge, helping Wake to a 4-0 halftime lead. The Deacs racked up four more goals in a seven-minute span late in the second half for the final margin of victory.
Wake Forest outshot Louisville 43-5 and held an 11-3 edge in penalty corners. Cardinal goalkeeper Colleen Finn made 22 saves on the day, while Wake's Meaghan Nitka and Jaime Tressler shared the shutout for the Deacs, combining for five saves.
