Women's Golf Wraps Up Lady Paladin In Seventh Place

Greenville, S.C. - The fourth-ranked Wake Forest women's golf squad completed the Lady Paladin Invitational at Furman University in seventh place Sunday afternoon.
The Deacons carded a three-round 902 after shooting a 305 in Sunday's round. Wake sophomore Nuria Clau recorded the team's highest finish, listing in a tie for fifth place - her best finish of the fall season. Clau, who carded a four-over 76 on the final 18, shot a three-over 129 through 54 holes.
Senior Marta Prieto was Wake's next highest finisher, placing in a tie for 15th with a three-round 222. Prieto was close to breaking par the entire tournament, shooting a 73, a 75 and finally a 74 in Sunday's round. Sophomore Maria Beautell neared the top-20, finishing in a tie for 21st with three other individuals. Beautell carded an eight-over 224 after shooting a 75 in the final two rounds of play.
Freshman Deb Means completed the three-day event in a tie for 78th place. Means carded an 80 on the final 18 holes to finish with a 241. Deacon junior Camille Lee wrapped up the Lady Paladin tied for 89th place. Lee shot a 246 for the tournament after carding an 82 in today's round. Sophomore Caroline Stetler, competing as an individual, was not far behind Lee. Stetler finished in a tie for 91st place with a three-round 247. She shot her lowest score of the tournament on the final day, carding an 81.
Wake Forest closes out its fall season and will next be in action February 23-25 at the SunTrust Lady Gator Invitational in Gainesville, FL.
