No. 9 Wake Forest Heads to Texas for Charles Schwab Women’s Collegiate Invitational

Schwab has served as the title sponsor of the Charles Schwab Women’s Collegiate Invitational since 2024.
FORT WORTH, TEXAS. - The No. 9 Wake Forest women's golf team is prepped for its final tournament of March, as they head west for the Charles Schwab Women's Collegiate Invitational hosted by TCU from Mar. 23-24 in Fort Worth, Texas.
Junior Macy Pate leads the charge for the Deacs, as the top-ranked player of the squad at No. 15. This past week, the Winston-Salem, N.C.-native clinched the match play victory over the No. 16 Mississippi State Bulldogs at the Old Barnwell Derby.
Continuing a strong sophomore campaign, Chloe Kovelesky remains a standout piece in the lineup. As a freshman, Kovelesky secured a top-15 finish during last year's competition to help the Demon Deacons to a third place finish behind No. 1 Stanford and No. 3 Oregon.
Round one for the Deacons begins with a shotgun start at 9:30 a.m. ET. Wake Forest will be paired with No. 1 Stanford and No. 41 TCU.
Last Time Out (Old Barnwell Derby)
In the final round of match play, No. 8 Wake Forest women's golf defeated No. 16 Mississippi State 3.5-1.5 in the third place match at Old Barnwell Derby in Aiken, S.C. Junior Macy Pate clinched the victory for the Demon Deacons with a 45-foot putt to finish 3&1 over Mississippi State's Avery Weed, ranked No. 3 in the NCAA.
