Wake Women's Tennis Wins 12th Straight

RALEIGH, N.C.--The third-ranked Wake Forest women's tennis team won its 12th match in a row by defeating the North Carolina State Wolfpack 9-0 at the Wolfpack Tennis Complex on Saturday.
Adria Engel played at No. 1 singles for Wake, defeating Marissa Gildemeister 6-1, 6-2. Janet Bergman won at No. 2, defeating Brie Glover 6-3, 6-0 and Maren Haus played at the No. 3 spot, defeating Loni Worsey 6-2, 6-3. In doubles action, Bergman and Bea Bielik defeated Glover and Myrna Bawono 8-1 at No. 1, Annemarie Milton and Haus defeated Gildemeister and Worsley 9-7 and Engel and Jackie Houston played at No. 3 defeating Landis Strader and Kristen Nicholls 9-7.
With the win, Wake improves to 15-1 overall and 5-0 in the ACC, while the Wolfpack drops to 5-12 overall and 0-6 in league matches. Wake will play again on Sunday. The Deacs travel to Greenville, SC to take on Furman.
