Baseball Dominates Maryland, 20-3

The 20 runs and 20 hits were season-highs for the Demon Deacons. It was the team's best offensive output since February 24, 2000 when Wake Forest defeated Davidson 30-4.
While his teammates were doing the damage at the plate, senior All-American candidate Cory Sullivan did the damage on the mound. He threw his second complete game of the year, allowing just three runs on five hits while striking out four.
Sullivan helped his own cause going two-for-four at the plate with two RBI and a stolen base.
The offensive stars for Wake Forest were plentiful as seven Demon Deacons had at least two hits. Carlos Brackley hit two home runs in the contest, his 11th and 12th of the season, finishing with five RBI. Corey Slavik had four hits and drove in two runs to move into a tie for fifth place all-time in the runs batted in category. He also made several sparkling defensive plays at third base. Jamie D'Antona drove in four runs, tying a season-high.
But it was Ryan Johnson's two-out, three-run homer in the fourth inning that put Maryland in Wake Forest's rear-view mirror.
Wake Forest continues its weekend series with the Terrapins on Saturday night in College Park. Senior Scott Siemon will make the start for the Demon Deacons. First pitch is at 7:00 p.m.
