Wake Forest Open Rescheduled For Sunday

WINSTON-SALEM, NC - The Wake Forest men's and women's cross country teams have rescheduled its home event, the Wake Forest Open, for Sunday afternoon, Sept. 16. The 8,000-Meter Men's Run will begin at 12:15 p.m. and the 5,000-Meter Women's Run will begin at 1:00 p.m. Both races will start and finish at Water Tower Field on the campus of Wake Forest University.
The Wake Forest Open, which was originally scheduled for Saturday morning, Sept. 15, was postponed in accordance to ACC policy. The Demon Deacon men's team, ranked 23rd in the preseason poll and coming off a first place finish at the Aug. 31 Mountaineer Open in Boone, NC, will compete against North Carolina, #12 William & Mary and Charlotte. The Demon Deacon women's team, ranked 21st in the preseason poll and coming off a third place finish at the Aug. 31 Mountaineer Open in Boone, NC, will compete against #6 North Carolina and Charlotte.
Sunday's Open is the one and only time that Wake Forest's cross country teams will compete at home this year. Both the men's and women's squads advanced to the NCAA Championships last season where the women finished 29th and the men took 18th place.
