Wake Forest's junior goalkeeper Katie Ridd was named Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Week after guiding the Demon Deacons to a 2-0 weekend.
The Fairfax, Va. Native helped the Deacs to victories over 13th-ranked Duke and seventh-ranked North Carolina to run the squad's ACC record to a conference-best 3-0. Against the Blue Devils on Friday night, Ridd made four saves and allowed no goals, earning her second solo shutout of the season. On Sunday at Carolina, Ridd allowed just one Tar Heel goal and tallied a season-high nine saves. Ridd has allowed just two goals in the team's three ACC victories.
This marks the third consecutive week that the honor has gone to a Wake Forest player. Two weeks ago, sophomore Kelly Dostal earned the distinction. Last week, Dostal shared the honor with North Carolina senior Meredith Keller.
