NCAA MEN'S SOCCER TOURNAMENT POST GAME QUOTES

  • November 27, 2002 - Second Round
  • Wake Forest 1, Old Dominion 0

WAKE FOREST HEAD COACH JAY VIDOVICH:

"As we anticipated, ODU proved to be a very worthy opponent. It took us a while to break them down. But our guys took control and stepped it up on defense. We created a lot of good chances and their goalkeeper just had some great saves."

JUNIOR FORWARD JEREMIAH WHITE:

"I felt if we kept applying pressure, we would get something out of it," White said. "We just had to keep plugging away. We had a game plan and we just stuck with it."

JUNIOR GOALKEEPER WILLIAM HESMER:

"The only way they were going to get a goal was with their counter (attack). Our defense was outstanding. It's been the strength of our team all year. We knew we'd get a goal eventually."

OLD DOMINION HEAD COACH ALAN DAWSON:

"I thought the game plan went well. We knew Wake Forest was a good team especially with possession of the ball. Samuel Cameron made great plays and kept us in the game. We had one or two good shots but it didn't happen."

GOALkEEPER SAMUEL CAMERON:

"We fought hard. It was awesome to come this far and it's a great step for the program. We knew Wake Forest was a tough team. We just didn't finish our shots tonight."
