Janet Bergman Receives USTA Sportsmanship Award

Madison, Wisc. - Wake Forest senior Janet Bergman received the U.S. Tennis Association Sportsmanship Award today at the USTA/ITA National Team Indoor Championships in Madison, Wisc.
Bergman was chosen by the coaches of the 16 participating schools for displaying outstanding sportsmanship and exemplifying the spirit of college tennis during the course of the tournament.
Bergman, who hails from Pinehurst, N.C., helped Wake to a quarterfinal appearance at this week??s event in Madison. She went 2-1 at No. 2 singles, defeating two ranked opponents, and also 3-0 at No.1 doubles (over three ranked opponents) this week. Bergman is currently ranked 12th nationally in singles and third in doubles.
