Bea Bielik Named ITA National Player of the Month

SKILLMAN, N.J. - Wake Forest women??s tennis player Bea Bielik was named the ITA National Player of the Month for February, as announced by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association on Thursday. Bielik, along with teammate Janet Bergman, was named the ITA National Doubles Team of the Month as well.
Bielik, a Deacon junior from Valley Stream, N.Y. and the nation's top-ranked player in women??s singles, went 7-0 last month. She notched five top-50 wins in February and has held the No. 1 spot in the Omni Hotels national singles rankings the entire season. Bielik made it a sweep by also picking up ITA National Doubles Team of the Month honors with Bergman, a senior from Pinehurst, N.C. Bielik and Bergman are currently No. 1 in the Omni Hotels national doubles rankings and went 8-0 last month and 4-0 against the top 60.
Bergman, Bielik and their teammates, which currently have Wake Forest ranked fifth in the latest national team rankings, will host seventh-ranked Texas on Friday, February 15 at 1:00 p.m. at the Leighton Tennis Stadium. It is the first outdoor match of the season as well as the second top-10 opponent to visit Winston-Salem so far this season.
