Deacon Tennis Closes Out Regular Season with Home ACC Matches

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The nationally-ranked Wake Forest mens?? and women??s tennis teams will close out their regular seasons with dual matches against ACC opponents this weekend.
The women??s team, ranked fourth nationally, is in action on Saturday against No. 52 Maryland. Match time is set for 11:00 a.m.
On Sunday, the Deacon squads host an ACC doubleheader as the women take the court at 12 noon versus 70th-ranked Virginia. The men??s team, ranked 22nd, keeps the action going at 3:00 p.m. when it faces NC State.
Both the men??s and women??s teams are striving for important milestones this weekend. The women will look to notch their 19th and 20th victories of the season, marking just the fourth 20-win season in program history. The Deacon men are looking to win their sixth ACC match of the year, the most conference victories since 1981.
All matches are scheduled to take place at the Leighton Tennis Stadium on WFU??s campus. In the event of inclement weather, the action will be moved to the Indoor Tennis Center (adjacent to Groves Stadium). The matches are free and open to spectators. Free Krispy Kreme doughnuts, pizza and Pepsi will be provided during Sunday??s doubleheader.
