Women's Golf Improves to Fourth in ACC/SEC Challenge

TALLAHASSE, FL - The Wake Forest women's golf team moved into a fourth place tie with the University of North Carolina at the ACC/SEC Challenge at the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort. The Deacons shot a 19-over 303 and are now 36-over par for the tournament.
Duke remains in firm control of the event after firing their second straight round of 276. The Blue Devils now lead second place Florida by 32 strokes as the ACC looks to capture their first Commissioner's Cup in four years. Liz Janangelo moved into first place individually after an impressive six-under 65. She leads teammate Anna Grzebien by six stokes heading into the final day of the event.
Christine Hallstrom helped the Deacons improve to fourth place with a two-over 73. Hallstrom and teammate Deb Means are tied for 12th place overall. Means shot a second round score of 75, which is four-over par. Both players are six-over par for the tournament. Maggie Simons shot a six-over 77 to move into 35th place. One stroke behind on the day was freshman Mandy Goins, who shot a seven-over 78 to place 24th after two rounds. Julie McKenna is currently in 53rd place after firing an 11-over 82 and is now 20-over for the tournament.
The Demon Deacons will wrap up the ACC/SEC Challenge Sunday with the final 18 holes.
