CHAMPAIGN, IL.-- The Wake Forest volleyball team had no trouble defeating Evansville in three straight games on Friday evening at the State Farm Illini Classic in Champaign, Illinois. With this victory, the Deacs improve to 4-0 on the season and advance to Saturday's championship game.

Valerie Rydberg put away 15 kills and had a team-leading 16 digs for the Deacs who are off to their best start since the 2000 season. Lacy Haller led Evansville with 20 digs in a losing effort.

Christy Williams and Jessica Hauff both recorded 12 kills for Wake Forest and Natasha Schaefer notched 13 digs.

The Demon Deacons return to action Saturday evening at 8 p.m. as they take on the winner of Friday's Illinois vs. Depaul matchup in the championship game of the Illini Classic.
