Women's Golf Improves To Sixth At Mason Rudolph

Franklin, Tenn. - The Wake Forest women's golf team improved to a sixth place tie on day two of the Mason Rudolph Championship. The Deacons are 19 strokes off tournament leader UCLA and 20 strokes above par. Senior Ashley Hoagland leads all Deacons with a four under showing this afternoon. She is one under for the tournament.
Hoagland shot an opening round 75, but dropped seven strokes for a 68 on Saturday. Only Alison Walshe of Tulane (-4) and Charlotte Mayorkas of UCLA (-2) stand in front of her.
Christine Hallstrom shot her second 74 of the tournament and is tied for 21st at four over. Maggie Simons bettered yesterday's performance (79) by six strokes, shooting a one over 73 Saturday. She is eight over for the tournament, tied for 44th place.
Mandy Goins has shot rounds of 75 and 79 on the first two days for 10 over par. She is tied for 62nd. Freshman Laura Crawford improved four strokes to shoot a 78 Saturday. She is 16 over for the tournament.
The Deacons play the third and final round of the Vanderbilt-hosted Mason Rudolph Championship on Sunday.
