ACC BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Wake Forest's Chris Paul, who led the Demon Deacons to a 2-0 start including a pair of victories in the opening rounds of the Preseason NIT against George Washington and Virginia Commonwealth, was named ACC Player of the Week Nov. 22.
The 6-0 sophomore guard poured in 41 points, dished out 11 assists, grabbed seven rebounds and registered six steals to lead Wake Forest last week. In the two games combined, Paul shot 53.3 percent (8-of-15) from the floor and 88.9 percent (24-of-27) from the free throw line.
The Lewisville, N.C. native opened the season by posting 25 points and six assists in the win over the Colonials. Against VCU, Paul led the Deacs with 16 points including 14-of-15 from the charity stripe.
Last season Paul was named ACC Rookie of the Week five times.
ACC ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Virginia's Sean Singletary lead the Cavaliers to a pair of victories including a 78-60 win over No. 10 Arizona in Charlottesville on Sunday. Singletary scored 21 points, had 15 assists, grabbed nine rebounds and tallied nine steals in the two games. The freshman guard shot 50.0 percent (8-of-16) from the field including 80.0 percent (4-of-5) from the free throw line for the week. The Philadelphia, Penn. native also led the Cavaliers in assists and steals in their two wins while committing just seven turnovers in 55 minutes of action. Against 10th-ranked Arizona, Singletary had a game-high eight assists and six steals, while registering 15 points and six boards.
