Wake Forest Days Kicks Off May 6 In Hendersonville

New Wake Forest women's basketball coach Mike Petersen and Jennifer Averill, head coach of the two-time NCAA champion field hockey team, headline "Wake Forest Days" in Hendersonville (NC) May 6th.
The May 6 festivities begin with a round of golf at Etowah Valley Country Club at noon, followed by a dinner and reception at 6 p.m.
Petersen comes to Wake Forest after serving five years as an assistant men's coach at Minnesota. Prior to working at Minnesota, Petersen helped turn around women's basketball programs at TCU and New Mexico State. Averill, entering her 13th season at Wake Forest, has led the Deacons to consecutive NCAA championships and four straight Final Four appearances.

Directions to Etowah Valley Country Club (828-891-7022): I-40 West to I-26 East. Take the airport exit. Turn right on Highway 280, go three miles past the intersection with Highway 191. Turn left on Ray Hill Road. Go one-quarter mile and bear right. Go 4-5 miles to a T-intersection and go straight across into Etowah Valley Country Club.
