Wake Forest field hockey hosts Ohio State Friday at Kentner Stadium. The Buckeyes are the Demon Deacons' third Big Ten opponent in as many games. The two-time defending National Champions enter the contest 2-0, while Ohio State comes to Kentner with a 1-1 record. Game time is at 3:30 p.m. "It's always great to play a Big Ten opponent," said Deacon Head Coach Jennifer Averill. "I have great respect for the conference and for Ohio State. We are excited to have the opportunity to host the Buckeyes and look forward to a great game." Wake Forest and Ohio State have never met in field hockey. The Deacons look to extend their winning streak against non-conference opponents to 28. The last non-conference opponent to beat Wake Forest was James Madison, on Sept. 8, 2002. The Deacons travel to Harrisonburg for a Sunday contest with the Dukes at 1:00 pm. Wake Forest currently owns a regular season unbeaten streak of six, with an overall unbeaten streak of 1; both streaks include 2003 competition. On the new Kentner Stadium turf, Wake Forest is undefeated. The Deacons will try to keep it that way on Friday afternoon. Admission is free for the event.
