
Chris Paul Named ACC Player of the Week

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Wake Forest sophomore All-American candidate Chris Paul was named ACC Player of the Week as announced by the ACC Monday. It is the second time the point guard has garnered the award this season.
Paul averaged 20.0 points, 7.0 assists, 6.0 rebounds and 3.5 steals as the fourth-ranked Demon Deacons posted league wins over Maryland and No. 3 North Carolina.
In Saturday's 95-82 win over the Tar Heels, the Lewisville, N.C. native scored a game-high 26 points, grabbed six rebounds, dished out eight assists and had five steals while going 9-of-9 from the free throw line. In Tuesday's 81-66 rout of Maryland, Paul scored 14 points, dished out six assists and had two steals.
Since mid-December, Paul has been one of college basketball's hottest players. He has averaged 18.1 points per game, including 20-plus points against Texas, New Mexico, Virginia and 26 points against North Carolina. Paul has dished out 7.6 assists per game, including a career-best 12 assists against Texas. He has 21 steals over the last eight games including six Dec. 15 against Elon and five against North Carolina Jan. 15. Paul has made 16 of his last 23 three-point attempts (69.6 percent).
