Demon Deacons Wrap Up Play At ITA Southeast Regional Tournament

Chapel Hill, N.C. -- - Redshirt sophomore Alex Hirsch advanced to the quarterfinals of the singles main draw and finished the weekend with a 3-1 overall record at the ITA/Wilson Southeast Regional Tournament hosted by the University of North Carolina.
Hirsch, who entered the tournament as the #6 seed, opened up play with a trio of victories before falling to Duke's Jackie Carleton, 6-0, 6-4 on Sunday afternoon. In doubles, Hirsch paired up with Davis and defeated Ilina/Ziolkowska, 8-3 in the round of 32. Advancing forward, the pair fell in to Alvarez/van Aldrichem, 8-5. Davis also played in the main singles draw as the #2 seed and finished the tournament with a 2-1 record.
In doubles Christian Tara paired up with Sierra Poske and advanced to the quarterfinals with victories over pairs from Davidson, UNC Wilmington and UT Chattanooga before falling to Mang/Zika of Duke, 8-3.
The Demon Deacons will close out their fall season at the Kitty Harrison Invitational Nov. 4-6 in Chapel Hill, N.C.
