
Women's Tennis Climbs Into Top-30 Of National Poll

Winston-Salem, NC. - A trio of victories this past weekend, including a 7-0 sweep of then-#6 William and Mary moved the Wake Forest women's tennis team into the #26 spot of the Intercollegiate Tennis Poll (ITA), the organization announced on Tuesday.
The Demon Deacons, previously ranked at #32, currently holds an 8-6 overall record and an 1-2 mark in the ACC. The new ranking is the highest that the program has seen since March 30, 2004.
Also jumping into the national polls, the doubles tandem of Karin Coetzee and Alex Hirsch have earned the #15 ranking, while Coetzee and Ashlee Davis are at #53. Coetzee and Hirsch carry a 5-1 overall record at the No. 1 doubles position, while Coetzee and Davis, who started the spring season with a #33 ranking, have a 9-5 overall record.
In singles, Coetzee and Davis both have earned spots in the top-75, with #30 and #66 ranking, respectively.
The Demon Deacons will return to the court Sunday, March 27 against Florida State. Match time in Tallahassee is set for noon.
