Greensboro, N.C. - Junior Haley Scott was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Field Hockey Player of the Week after scoring a pair of goals to lift the Demon Deacons over the Duke Blue Devils, 2-1, this past weekend.
The honor for Scott is the first of her career and the first for a Wake Forest field hockey player this season.
In a rematch of the last two national championship games, Scott scored both goals in addition to leading the team in shots (7). After Duke got on the board in the first 15 minutes of the game, Scott picked up the equalizer for Wake Forest at the 36:11 mark. The Rancho Santa Fe, Calif., native then scored what proved to be the gamewinning goal at the 57:51 mark.
Scott leads the Demon Deacons in game-winning goals on the season with two and shares the team lead in goals scored with three.
