No 1 Field Hockey faces No 2 Maryland

Winston-Salem, N.C. - The No. 1 ranked Wake Forest field hockey team will look to extend its six game winning streak as the Demon Deacons travel to College Park, Md., where they will face No. 2 Maryland, Saturday afternoon.
Maryland, who is also undefeated on the year, owns the series 15-8, despite Wake Forest taking the last six games. The last meeting was the NCAA semifinals when the Deacs advanced on a 3-0 victory.
Wake Forest enters the weekend coming off a pair of shutout victories at home. Defeating Kent State, 4-0, and No. 6 Michigan, State, 2-0, freshman Christine Suggs shined, scoring three goals and adding one assist. For her accomplishments, Suggs was named the ACC Player of the Week.
Maryland, who is currently 9-0, defeated No. 16 Boston College, 3-0, on the road last weekend.
Game time in College Park is set for 1 p.m.
