Women's Golf Finishes Seventh At Mason Rudolph

Nashville, Tenn. - The 21st-ranked Wake Forest women's golf team finished in seventh place at the Mason Rudolph Challenge. The Deacons shot a 14-over par 302 on Sunday to finish the tournament at 892 (288-302-302), 28-over par. The 54-hole event, hosted by Vanderbilt, began on Friday and ended Sunday. It was contested at the par 72 Vanderbilt Legends Club.
Duke captured the team title with a 14-over par 878. Georgia came in second three strokes behind. Arkansas (20-over), UCLA (21-over) and Auburn (25-over) rounded out the top-five. Arizona placed sixth edging the Deacons by one shot.
Mandy Goins fired an even par 72 on Sunday to place fourth individually. The junior finished the tournament at even after firing rounds of 70-74-72.
Freshman Jean Chua shot a six-over par 78 after opening with rounds of 73 and 72. Chua finished the tournament with a six-over par 223, good for a tie for 16th.
Junior Maggie Simons added a four-over par 76 on Sunday and finished the tournament with a 10-over par 226. Simons finished in a tie for 26th.
Freshman Nannette Hill shot a six-over par 78 for the Deacons and finished the tournament with a three-day total of 229, 13-over par.
Sophomore Laura Crawford shot a four-over par 76 and completed the tournament with a 54-hole total of 230, 14-over par.
Duke freshman Amanda Blumenherst fired a four-under par, 68, to win the event. Blumenherst finished at eight-under par, 208. Vanderbilt's Jacqui Concolino and Auburn's Maria Martinez each finished the event at three-under. Goins finished at even par, good for fourth, and Arizona State's Azahara Munoz shot a one-over 217 to round out the top-five.
