Morgenstern Earns Way Into ITA Mideast Regional Main Draw

Chapel Hill, N.C. - Wake Forest freshman Jason Morgenstern won two matches in straight sets in the qualifying rounds of the ITA Mideast Regional draw to earn a berth in the main draw beginning Wednesday. The event is being hosted by the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill.
Morgenstern, a native of Old Bethpage, N.Y., defeated Chris Peek of Charleston Southern, 6-4, 6-2. Later, he cruised past Joseph Withers of Coastal Carolina, 6-2, 6-1.
Morgenstern joins teammates Andrew Hamar, Cory Parr and Mariusz Adamski in the 128-player main draw.
Junior Charles Sartor was knocked off in the first round by Keziel Juneau of William & Mary, 6-2, 6-3. Freshman Andrew Brasseaux was outlasted in three sets by Alex Stone of Duke, 7-6, 4-6, 6-3.
Senior All-American Todd Paul will not participate in this week's event as he prepares for the National Indoors Championships in Columbus, Ohio.
