Wake Forest Bounces Back Against Minnesota, 6-1

Richmond, Va. - The 13th-ranked Wake Forest men's tennis team won five singles matches in straight sets en route to a convincing 6-1 victory against 35th-ranked Minnesota on Saturday in Richmond.
The Demon Deacons got off on the right foot with three impressive performances in doubles. Andrew Hamar and Todd Paul eased to an 8-3 victory at number one. Mariusz Adamski and Brett Ross rolled past Minnesota's number two team, 8-5. Joe Bates and Cory Parr also posted an 8-5 win at number three.
Wake Forest carried its momentum into singles where the Deacons relied on their superior firepower to blast the Gophers. Paul cruised past D.J. Geatz at number one, 6-1, 6-4. Hamar followed suit against Nic Edlefsen, 6-4, 6-1. Adamski knocked off the nation's 72nd-ranked player, Raoul Schwark, 6-4, 6-0. Parr won at number five 6-2, 7-6 and at number six, Liron Strauss had no problems in a 6-2, 6-1 rout.
Minnesota's only win came at number three singles where Andres Osorio outlasted Ross, 7-6, 4-6, 11-9 in a superbreaker.
The Deacons will be idle until Saturday, Feb. 25, when they travel to 32nd-ranked Louisville. The Cardinals own a 44-match regular season home winning streak.
