Track and Field Wraps up Weekend Events

Winston-Salem, N.C. - Several men's and women's track and field athletes competed in events across the country this past weekend.
At the Alex Wilson Invitational hosted by Notre Dame, senior Sean Stevens broke an 11 year-old school record in the 5,000 meter run with a time of 14:15.77. Stevens broke Kyle Armentrout's 1995 mark of 14:18.10 in the event.
Also competing at the meet, senior Hanna Bremler set a new personal best in the mile run with a time of 4:53.93. Junior Michelle Sikes set a NCAA provisional qualifying mark in the 3000 meter run with a time of 9:34.70. Freshman Jeremy Fisico also ran a personal best in the 3000 meter run with a mark of 8:29.39.
At the Iowa State's Cyclone National Track and Field Qualifier, the men's 4x400 meter relay team broke the school record for the second time in as many weeks running a time of 3:09.20. The team of Michael Bingham, Brent LaRue, Willie Idlette and Eric Seely set a new school best for the third time this season.
Bingham placed fourth in the 200 meter dash with a time of 21.26, and Loyd finished sixth in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.00 in the finals.
Senior Lindsay Neuberger captured the shot put title at the Virginia Tech Last Chance Invite on Saturday. The Virginia Beach, Va. native set another NCAA provisional qualifying mark with a toss of 15.80 meters.
