Charlottesville, Va. - We arrived in Charlottesville last night and enjoyed a good hour and a half indoor practice before dinner at Coach Zinn's favorite restaurant: Boston Market. We manage to make at least three trips to Boston Market every time we come to Charlottesville. However, I am not complaining as I believe they offer, pound for pound, one of the best chicken pot pies money can buy. After dinner we returned to our hotel. I relaxed in the room for the rest of the night whilst my roommate, Todd Paul, spent his night playing video games online against his girlfriend. Todd won three games in a row.
This morning we woke up at 8:30 and ate breakfast before a light morning hit. We practiced our doubles which we believe will be a key to our success this weekend. After the hit we returned to our rooms to relax for a couple hours before our afternoon practice. The afternoon hit was designated for singles as we all played a practice set. I think everyone is feeling really good as we get ready for what Coach Zinn has dubbed "Wake Forest Tennis' biggest weekend ever."
We enjoyed a great dinner tonight at the Outback Steakhouse. Our trainer, Stephen Wiley, and our media relations representative, Mike Vest, were able to join us for the feast. The extra support from these guys on the road trips is always appreciated by everyone. Not only are they integral to our success, but they simply bring good, positive vibes to the team. My Cyclone Chicken was excellent and our waitress, named Princess, provided service fit for a king.
We are now watching the movie Syriana before we retire for a good night's sleep. We play Kentucky tomorrow at 1:00.
