Men's 4x400 Relay Closes Season At NCAA Championships

SACRAMENTO, CALIF. - The Wake Forest men's 4x400 relay consisting of Michael Bingham, Willie Idlette, Brent LaRue and Eric Seely, closed its season at the NCAA Championships with an 11th-place finish running a time of 3:06.31, Thursday evening in the NCAA preliminaries at the Alex G. Spanos Sports Complex.
The relay team advanced to the championship meet after a second-place finish at the NCAA East Regional and a first-place finish at the ACC Championships. Running a time of 3:05.48 at the regionals, the Demon Deacons broke the Wake Forest record for the second time this season. Prior to 2006, the school record was more than 10 seconds higher than the mark set at the East Regional.
Wake Forest has one athlete remaining at the championship meet, junior Michelle Sikes. She advanced to the finals of the 5,000 meters after recording an eighth place on Wednesday. Sikes will compete on Friday at 7 p.m.
