Charlottesville, Va. -- The Wake Forest men's tennis team begins its 2006-07 campaign at the Virginia Fall Invitational, a 22-team event beginning Friday and ending Sunday. Play begins at 9 a.m. each day at the Snyder Tennis Center.
Head coach Jeff Zinn will take six players to Charlottesville, Va., this weekend including senior preseason All-American Todd Paul, juniors Mariusz Adamski and Charles Sartor and sophomore Cory Parr. Two freshmen, Andrew Brasseaux and Jason Morgenstern, will make their collegiate debuts in the event.
Wake Forest returns five players from last year's 16-11 team that advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. The seniors include Andrew Hamar and Paul -- both preseason All-Americans.
Players from 22 schools will compete in this weekend's event, including 21 players ranked in the Preseason ITA Singles Rankings. Ten of those players competed in last season's NCAA Singles Championship, making the tournament's field one of the strongest in the nation.
