WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -
The Wake Forest men's and women's track and field teams will make the jaunt over to Durham, N.C., this weekend for the annual Duke Invitational to be held on Friday and Saturday. Events will run from 12 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. on Friday and from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Saturday from Wallace Wade Stadium.
Heading into the fourth meet of the outdoor season, the Deacs have already earned 10 regionally-qualifying marks or times. Sikes also currently holds the fastest 5,000-meter time in the nation (15:47.48) while Bingham's 400-meter time of 46.25 is the sixth-best in the country.
Wake is coming off a weekend that saw four school records fall at the Stanford and Yellow Jacket Invitationals. Sikes (5,000m), Council (400m), Vaughn (100mH) and the women's 4x400-meter relay team (Duffey, Council, Alexandra Gove and Nicole Castronuova) all established new Wake Forest records en route to finishing a successful weekend away from home.
Following the Duke Invitational, the Deacs will head to the Sea Ray Relays in Knoxville, Tenn., as well as the Carolina Fast Times in Chapel Hill next weekend.
