Wake Forest Field Hockey Announces 2007 Schedule

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Wake Forest field hockey team announced its schedule for the 2007 season. The Demon Deacons will play a 16-game schedule, playing most of their games on the road as they look to make their fifth NCAA final appearance in six years.
The Deacs will open this season's schedule at the Big Ten/ACC Challenge on Aug. 25-26 at Michigan. Wake Forest will square off against Iowa on Saturday and play host Michigan on Sunday. North Carolina will represent the other Atlantic Coast Conference school at the Challenge before both conference teams meet in Chapel Hill on Aug. 31.
Wake Forest remains on the road with a game against Duke on Sept. 8, before opening its home schedule on the 12th against Radford at 7 p.m. After three more road games, including a 1 p.m. match against defending national champion Maryland on Sept. 22, the Deacs return to Winston-Salem for a three-game homestand. The Deacs host North Carolina on Sept. 29, Michigan State on the 30th and Appalachian State on Oct. 3.
Heading out to California, Wake faces Cal on Oct. 12 before making the short trip over to Palo Alto to take on Pacific and Stanford on Oct. 14-15, respectively.
The Demon Deacons close the regular season at home with two conference games. On Oct. 20, the Deacs host Virginia and on Oct. 28 Boston College comes to town. The 2007 ACC Tournament will be played at Boston College from November 1-4.
