The No. 14 Wake Forest women's golf team topped its first round score by two strokes in the second round of the ACC Championship in Dayton Beach, Fla. but the Deacs remain in fourth place heading into Sunday's final round.
Wake, at 20 over par, is 17 strokes behind tournament co-leaders Duke and Virginia.
Allie Bodemann carded a two-under 70 Saturday to rise six spots from 11th place into fifth. The freshman led the Deacs with four birdies on the day and sits four strokes behind tournament leader Calle Nielson of Virginia.
A win for Bodemann would be her first as a Demon Deacon.
Natalie Sheary posted a five-over 77 in the second round, six strokes off her first round score, to land in tie for 11th place. The freshman entered the round tied for third and is four over par for the tournament. Sheary entered the event as the leading scorer for the Deacs at 74.3 strokes per 18 holes.
Nannette Hill rose three spots from a tie for 22nd into a tie for 19th after shooting a three-over 75 Saturday. The junior has finished in the top 25 five consecutive times.
Jean Chua matched Hill's three-over 75 and currently sits tied for 22nd. The junior entered the second round tied for 32nd and made the largest upwards jump in the standings of any Deacon golfer.
Chua has not recorded a top 20 finish this season.
Jordan Craig was the fourth Deacon golfer to move up in the individual standings after she posted a six-over 78, matching her first round score. The senior is 12 over par for the tournament.
Craig hasn't recorded a top 20 finish since she tied for sixth at the UNCG-Bridgestone Collegiate Championship in October.
Nielson (-4) leads Duke's Amanda Blumenherst (-3) by one stroke in the race for individual honors.
Hill and Chua are the only Deacons with experience in the ACC Championship. Chua has finished as high as eighth and Hill best finish was a tie for 24th in 2007.
Teams will tee-off for the final round Sunday at 7:30 a.m.
A high of 83 degrees with mostly sunny skies and a 20 percent of rain has been projected for Daytona Beach Sunday by Weather.com.
