TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The Wake Forest's women's cross country team finished 27th in a meet that boasted a multitude of nationally-ranked teams at the Indiana State Pre-Nationals on Saturday. Sophomore Anna Nosenko crossed 22nd overall with a time of 21:13.9 in the White Division 6-kilometer at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course at the Wabash Valley Family Sports Center.
Sophomore Dina Nosenko came in 64th overall and second for the Deacons with a time of 21:43.8. Junior Marley Burns was third on the team with a time of 22:44.5 and 156th-overall place.
In fourth, redshirt sophomore Caitlin Crawford finished with a time of 23:17.4. Redshirt junior Whitney Curry rounded out the top five for Wake Forest with a time of 24:19 and 234th place. Freshman Claire Hagler finished 245th in 25:23.4.
In the open 6K race, junior Suzie Clinchy and junior Hannah McArdle represented Wake Forest. Clinchy came in 75th with a time of 24:12.6, while McArdle was 81st with 24:27.
Top-ranked Washington won the team title with 59 points in the White 6K. Angela Bizzarri of 18th-ranked Illinois captured the individual title with a time of 20:27.8. In the open event, No. 8 Minnesota's Mallory Van Ness was first with 21:51.2 in the 6K.
Wake Forest finished 27th of 37 squads with a total of 671 points in the White Race.
Up next, the men's and women's cross country teams will head to Raleigh, N.C., to compete in the ACC Championships on Saturday, Oct. 31.
