WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The No. 23 Wake Forest women's tennis team is hitting the road for tough contests this weekend. On Saturday, the Demon Deacons will face Indiana in Bloomington at 11 a.m. and continue play in the Hoosier state with No. 4 Notre Dame on Sunday at noon.
The Deacons (8-1) moved up in the latest ITA standings after upsetting Texas A&M and William & Mary at home last weekend. Senior Sierra Poske improved to 8-0 at No. 2 singles with two wins and junior Sasha Kulikova leads the Deacs at No. 1 singles with a 5-3 mark.
Indiana is 7-4 and will look to snap a 3-match losing streak on Saturday. The team is led by Katya Zapadalova at No. 1 singles, who holds 5-6 record for 2009.
Notre Dame is 9-1 with two road wins last weekend over Utah and BYU. The team's only loss this season was against No. 1 Northwestern on February 15.
Wake Forest will return to Winston-Salem to open conference play against North Carolina on March 7 at noon.
