Schiller, Davis Named Preseason All-ACC

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Seniors Raisa Schiller and Aileen Davis were named to the 2009 Preseason All-ACC team as voted by the league's head coaches.

Schiller, a midfielder, and Davis, a back, both picked up All-America honors following their junior seasons.

This is the first season that the conference has elected to select preseason All-ACC athletes.

The league's field hockey head coaches also voted on the predicted order of finish for 2009. Virginia took the first place slot with four first place votes, followed by Maryland and North Carolina who each had one first place vote. Wake Forest was selected for fourth, followed by Boston College and Duke.

The Demon Deacons will open the 2009 season on the road at the ACC/Big Ten Challenge in Iowa City on August 29.
