No. 3 Field Hockey Opens Home Season on Sunday

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - This weekend is big one for the third-ranked Wake Forest field hockey team, who open conference play at No. 11 Duke on Saturday and follow with the 2009 home opener against No. 18 Indiana on Sunday. Game time on Sunday is set for 2 p.m. and admission is free.
The Demon Deacons enter the weekend with a 3-1 record, slipping one spot in the National Field Hockey Coaches Association rankings after suffering a loss to North Carolina on September 4.
Duke is also 3-1, with a 2-0 record playing in Durham. Senior forward Amie Survilla leads the Blue Devils with six goals through four matches.

Indiana (3-1) heads into weekend play with Davidson on Saturday before facing the Deacons on Sunday.
Indiana junior defender Mutsa Mutembwa was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week after helping the Hoosiers defeat No. 13 Louisville, 2-1, on Sunday, Sept. 6 with a couple of big defensive saves.
Wake Forest will continue play in Winston-Salem on September 20, hosting in-state rival Davidson at 1 p.m.
