Men's Tennis Finishes Strong in Opening Fall Tourney Weekend

WILMINGTON, N.C. and CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - The Wake Forest men's tennis team had a strong showing this weekend as the Demon Deacons competed at the North Carolina - Wilmington Invitational and the University of Virginia Invitational.
In Charlottesville, Wake Forest senior Jason Morgenstern won three matches to advance to the finals of Flight B and freshman Danny Kreyman won all four of his matches in Flight C to take the bracket title. David Hopkins and Steven Forman went 2-2 through singles Flight A-1 and Jonathan Wolff and Iain Atkinson both finished 3-1 in Flight A-2.
The Deacons dominated doubles play, as Atkinson and Forman took the A-2 Flight title and Kreyman/Wolff posted the B-1 Flight title. Hopkins and Morgenstern earned the runner up slot in B-2 doubles.
In Wilmington, freshman Amogh Prabhakar was the singles Flight B runner up, finishing 2-1. In doubles, Carlos Salmon and Conner Sherwood finished 2-1 in Flight A to take the consolation bracket title.
Wake Forest will continue fall play at the historic Georgia Southern Intercollegiates September 18-21 in Athens, Ga.
