Women's Golf Signs Three To The Class of 2015

WINSTON-SALEM, NC - Wake Forest women's golf head coach Dianne Dailey has announced the signing three student-athletes for the class of 2015. Marissa Dodd, Allison Emrey and Emily Wright will all join the Demon Deacons next fall.
"Overall, this is a good strong class," said Dailey. "All three players have had success on the national level as well as the state and local level. They're very enthusiastic about coming to Wake Forest and they're all just very solid players. I think they'll all make a good impact on our team next year."
Dodd is an all-state player at Allen High School in Allen, Texas. She was the 5A state runner-up and has won a total of five high school tournaments in her career. Dodd also won her US Girls Junior qualifier this past summer and then advanced to match play at the finals. In AJGA events, she has posted a pair of top-3 three finishes over the last two years.
Emrey, a Charlotte, NC, native, helped lead Ardrey Kell to a state championship this past fall as she finished fourth overall. She won the state crown in 2008 and finished runner-up in 2009. Emrey has had success on the USGA level, advancing to match play at the 2009 US Girls Junior Championship, as well as on the AJGA circuit where she finished runner-up at two events in 2009.
This past summer, Emrey finished third at the AJGA Golf Pride Classic and helped lead The Carolinas Team to the Mid-Atlantic Challenge title. According to juniorgolfscoreboard.com, she is ranked as the No. 1 girls junior golfer in the state of North Carolina.
Wright finished-off a stellar career last month at William Mason High School in Mason, Ohio, as she led the Comets to their third-straight Ohio Division I State Championship. She also won the individual title in 2010 and is a two-time first team All-State honoree. Wright was named the Southwest Ohio District Player of the Year three times and holds the Greater Miami Conference and the Greater Cincinnati scoring records.
Wright's resume also includes five AJGA top-10s over the last year and she advanced to match play at the US Girls Junior at the Country Club of North Carolina this past summer.
