Shin Leads Deacons Through Two Rounds At Northrop Grumman

PALOS VERDES, Calif. - Freshman Michelle Shin fired a 1-under 70 and is in a tie for third through two rounds of the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge at Palos Verdes Country Club in Palos Verdes, Calif.
As a team, the Demon Deacons are in eighth place after a second round 301. Southern Cal is 12-over par and leads Pepperdine by two shots heading into the final round.
In rainy conditions, Shin played beautifully, making three birdies and 13 pars in her round. Coupled with her round of 1-over 72 on Monday, Shin is even-par through 36-holes and tied for third with a round to play. She trails Pepperdine's Lisa McCloskey by 4-shots heading into Wednesday.
Junior Natalie Sheary played well for the second-straight day, finishing with a 3-over 74 on Tuesday and is 5-over through two rounds. She will start the final round tied for 11th. Sheary has finished outside of the top-11 just once this season.
Stephanie Kim made a couple of birdies in her round of 76 on Tuesday and is tied for 29th with a round to go. She opened with a 75 on Monday.
Sophomore Cheyenne Woods and senior Dolores White both carded matching rounds of 10-over 81 on Tuesday. White is tied for 65th and Woods is tied for 71st.
