NC State Stops Women's Tennis, 5-2

RALEIGH, N.C. - The Wake Forest women's tennis team dropped its conference opener to NC State on Saturday, 5-2.
The Demon Deacons drop to 5-5 and 0-1 in the Atlantic Coast Conference. NC State is now 5-4 and 1-2 in the ACC.
The Wolfpack swept the Deacs in doubles action. In singles play, Kathryn Talbert notched the first win of the day, taking down NC State's Berkeley Brock in three sets at No. 2, 6-3, 2-6, 6-4.
NC State clinched the match win at No. 3 singles, but Aileen Davis followed with a 2-6, 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 6 over Chlose Smith to add one more point to the Wake Forest final tally.
Wake Forest is headed to South Carolina next week for two spring break matches. On Tuesday, March 9, the Demon Deacons will face the Lady Gamecocks in Columbia, S.C. and follow with the College of Charleston on March 10.
