Forman and Carleton Garner All-ACC Honors

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest senior Steven Forman and freshman Tripper Carleton have been named to the 18-member 2010 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Team as announced by the conference office Thursday.
Forman becomes only the third Demon Deacon to be named to the conference team in three consecutive years, and Carleton is the first Wake Forest freshman to earn All-ACC honors since Todd Paul in 2004.
Forman, who is also a 2008 and 2009 All-America selection, has put together the most successful season of his career. Called upon to anchor the lineup at the No. 1 singles spot, the Del Mar, Calif. native has responded by posting a 16-4 dual-match singles record, including an outstanding 8-2 in ACC play.
Ranked No. 27 nationally in singles, Forman has gone 9-3 against ranked opponents this season, scoring impressive victories over No. 8 Robert Farah (Southern Cal), No. 9 Michael Shabaz (Virginia) and No. 25 Jean-Yves Aubone (Florida State). Forman has teamed with Iain Atkinson to form the No. 19 doubles team in the country. The duo have gone 11-6 overall and 5-2 against ACC opponents.
Carleton is one of only four freshmen named to the 2010 All-ACC team. He has taken on a major role in his first season wearing the old gold and black, spending most of his time at the No. 2 position in the Wake Forest lineup. The Jenkintown, Pa. native is ranked No. 38 nationally in singles and has posted a 12-8 record, including five wins over ranked opponents.
